Hi, it's Kien Lim. Yes, you know me (well, those who do!) as David Lim. The reason behind the switch from my English name to my Chinese one is simple. A friend here in London started calling me and introducing me by my Chinese name as he prefered it and it stuck. I got used to it and now like it.
What do I do now? I've just embarked on a new career of singer/songwriter (started singing in 2003) and am now busking (the last 10 months or so) for a living in the subways of London. That's how Vincent Koh bumped into me. I was busking at Leicester Square Tube station when I saw a familiar face. He didn't recognize me though!
Busking just about pays the bills and I am looking to take my musical career to the next stage. So if anybody happens to have any ideas, gigs, or just happens to own a record company or happens to be a shit hot manager, please contact me. Oh, you can keep up with my ramblings on the news page of my website http://www.kienlim.com/. You can hear my music there or on www.myspace.com/kienx. I'm gonna be playing at Marcel's Rogue Festival this March.
I am unmarried with no kids that I know of.
Anyway, got to go to the loo now. Later.......

Yep, I had a shock when you called out my name! And I was only in the Tube Station because it was raining, so my family and I decided to take the Tube instead of walking.
Well, I think it's been 25 years since I last saw you and, you must admit, you've changed quite a bit. But it was good we met up because it has also led to guys like you and Marcel and Richard Lau getting back in the loop with people you may not have been contact with for some years (whether you like it or not, in some cases).
I'm trying to get tickets to the World Cup in Germany this summer, so maybe I'll pop over to London and sing with you one day (I'll reimburse you the income you'll lose out on by having me sing with you).
Cheers,
vincent
Hi Vince, funny how things happen! Guess I have changed a bit in appearance.....so you are forgiven :)
Oh ok, so you're a football fan. Ok you can come sing with me and reimburse me.....but no football songs!
Best wishes to you and your family.

OK... so is the pressure now on for all of us to post a "catch-up" post? LOL!
Yes, Marcel, a "catch-up" post from you would be a refreshing change to the daily diet of "updates to the eagle link contact list" (although, of course, I am wholly appreciative of the effort that goes into maintaining the contact list, etc, etc...)
